First session of the JMC conference about ‘The future of the European Union’
Yesterday 21 October 2024, at Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples, the first session of the conference ‘The Future of the European Union’ took place, dedicated to the topic ‘Does European constitutionalism exist?’.
After the greetings of the Rector Lucio d’Alessandro, speakers were Francesco Marone (Università degli Studi Suor Orsola Benincasa), Davide De Lungo (Parliamentary Councillor at the Chamber of Deputies) and Serena Sileoni (Università degli Studi Suor Orsola Benincasa, holder of the Jean Monnet Chair); the meeting was moderated by Francesco De Core (Deputy Director of Il Mattino).
This was followed by the communications given by the winners of the call for papers.
Rosalba Famà, PhD student at Bocconi University in Milan, focused on the paradigm shift in the European budget following the Next Generation EU. Luca Mariantoni, PhD candidate at the University of Rome ‘La Sapienza’, spoke about the diversified financing strategy as a unique financing method for financial assistance programmes. Antonio Borghetti, PhD student at the University of Brescia, addressed the topic of the genesis of the tax judiciary, from the PNRR to its constitutionalisation. Marianna Di Stefano, PhD student at Ca’ Foscari University, and Chiara Sagone, research fellow at the University of Catania, discussed the Next Generation EU programme from different perspectives.
We look forward to welcoming you today 22 October, starting at 10 a.m., for the second session of the conference, dedicated to the topic ‘The new stability pact’. After the greetings of the Director of the Department of Legal and Economic Sciences at Suor Orsola Tommaso Edoardo Frosini, today’s session will be moderated by Marco Demarco (columnist for Il Corriere della Sera) and will feature speeches by Nicola Rossi (Tor Vergata University), Marcello D’Amato (Suor Orsola Benincasa University) and Ginevra Bruzzone (manager of the PNRR mission structure of the Prime Minister’s Office).
